Our founding principle is that New Orleans is the birthplace of Jazz and the cradle of American popular music. The program New Orleans Live captures the essence of the music and culture of New Orleans and distributes its unique entertainment content via television and internet platforms to the rest of the world.
We began this journey with a program called Louisiana Jukebox in 1996. 320 one hour episodes later, after hosting legendary and Grammy winning artists we still say, “its all about the music.” Displaced along with all other New Orleanians by hurricane Katrina in 2005, approximately 10 years later, we’re back and on an inspired mission with New Orleans Live.
The New Orleans Live brand has many iterations. It may be the one hour television show, a single song by an up and coming artist shared via social media, a clip of highlights from Jazz Fest, Essence Fest, or literally dozens of other world class events. That content is then distributed via a variety of television and internet platforms.
The New Orleans Live team integrates media production skill sets that showcase our deep and immersive experience. Our competitive edge is unrivaled technological innovation, and a forward leaning understanding of how society will interact with entertainment content in the 21st century.
In 2015 New Orleans Live was created by building on the legacy of Louisiana Jukebox. Our goal is to elevate the music and culture of New Orleans to worldwide recognition. New Orleans Live will do for New Orleans what Austin City Limits has done for Austin, Texas.
By establishing a recognizable, iconic brand for our music, New Orleans will finally realize our true legacy and reputation as the birthplace of Jazz. From the early rhythms of Congo Square in Armstrong Park, New Orleans has been the main incubator in the birth, growth and development of American popular music.
New Orleans Live productions give our incredible musical artists the best opportunity to shine while creating universally entertaining content that expands musical tastes, and introduces New Orleans music and culture to viewers around the world. After all, "it’s all about the music."
